# Connect an exchange

Flicker reads your positions with a read-only key and shows the exit on each one. It never places orders.

## What connecting shows you

- **The exit on every position** — Liquidation with its distance from mark, and the stop and target where your exchange shares them.
- **What you'd lose if every stop fills** — One figure across your accounts, from entry, as a share of portfolio value.
- **Your record and a weekly review** — Closed trades as a record, in R where the stop at entry was read, and a review of each week.

Free for up to 4 exchange accounts; every portfolio feature is included.

## Read-only, by design

What a read-only key allows, and what Flicker does with it.

- **The key can only read** — Create it with read access and nothing else. Where the exchange reports a key's permissions, Flicker refuses one that can trade or withdraw.
- **Flicker never trades** — It reads positions, balances and orders. It never places an order or moves funds from your account.
- **Limited to Flicker's address** — Restrict the key to Flicker's IP address, so the exchange refuses it from anywhere else. `18.153.160.58`
- **Remove it any time** — Removing an account deletes its key and everything synced from it: positions, balances, order history and the record built from them.

## How it works

Three steps, the same on every exchange.

1. **Make a read-only key** — Step by step for each exchange.
2. **Paste it** — Flicker checks what the key can do where the exchange reports it, and refuses one that can trade or withdraw.
3. **See every exit** — Stop, target, liquidation, or no stop, on each position.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is it safe to connect an exchange?

Flicker asks for a read-only key, only reads with it, and never places orders or moves funds. Where your exchange reports a key's permissions, Flicker refuses one that can trade or withdraw. A read key still shows your balances to anyone who holds it, so keep it private and restrict it to Flicker's IP address.

### What does Flicker read?

Your open positions, balances and order history. On Hyperliquid, OKX, and BloFin, it also reads the stop and target orders resting on each position; the other exchanges don't share them with Flicker yet.

### How long does it take?

Each exchange's guide lists its steps: make a read-only key, then paste it here. Positions and balances are read while you connect; order history loads in the background and can take a few minutes. After that, Flicker syncs on each visit and once a day.

### What does it cost?

Nothing for up to 4 exchange accounts, with every portfolio feature included and no card needed. Pro connects more.

### Which exchanges can I connect?

8 exchanges today: Binance, Hyperliquid, OKX, Bybit, BingX, BloFin, Gate, and Kraken. Each one has its own step-by-step guide.

### My exchange isn't listed. What can I do?

Use “Request an exchange” on this page and name the exchange you trade on.
